Writer/director Tamara Scherbak won awards for Best Director and Best Film for her short film Dedashka (2007), a portrait of her grandfather’s changing memories of a WWII work camp. Her other short films like I U SHE (2012), Only Sky & Water (2010), Recycle, Reuse, Remix (2009), and Raya (2005) have screened in numerous film festivals in North America, Europe, the Caribbean and the Middle East. In 2009 Tamara was invited to take part in the Talent Lab at the Toronto International Film Festival, and then also at the 2012 Berlinale Talent Campus. Participating in the 2015 Berlinale Talents' Short Film Station with her comedic script "Is your Teen a Homosexual?", one of eight winners of the 2013-2014 Queer Ideas script development program in Toronto. Most recently, she has been directing a series of short documentaries for Vice Quebec and Vice Canada. Currently, in development on a feature film adaptation of the novel "Cazzarola! Anarchy, Romani, Love, Italy" by Canadian author Norman Nawrocki.
