Born in Athens, based in Paris. My practice revolves around analogue film and handmade cinéma, blending experimental and documentary approaches to explore the intersections of environment, human relationships, and eco-cinema. Rooted in the evolving landscape of photochemical film, my work is driven by a commitment to sustaining analogue practices while navigating technological and ecological transitions. As a PhD researcher in research-creation at Sorbonne Nouvelle (IRCAV), I am working on the subject of : "For an Experimental Eco-Cinema: Exploring the Cinematic Apparatus from Celluloid to Biomaterials" I focus on the materialogy of film, developing co-responsible and recyclable materials that could potentially replace celluloid while generating moving images. In 2024, I completed my Master’s degrees in Réalisation et Création and Ecology of Arts and Media: Contemporary Aesthetics and Artistic Practices at the Department of Arts, Paris 8 University, where I investigated new materialities and ecological practices in experimental cinema. Exploring the contemporary status of photochemical film practices in the context of technological transition is a primary source of motivation for my work. Through the creation of the association "Feux d’Artifice" based in Paris, we promote the production of experimental photochemical films in academic contexts. Our approach is both creative and ecological, sharing knowledge to enable autonomous and sustainable filmmaking, while revalorizing photochemical and ecological film practices.
