It was last inhabited 4500 years ago, in the early Bronze Age, and was a sanctuary visited by thousands of Pelegrins from the Mediterranean basin who left behind thousands of fragmented figurines. Nearby islanders still say that when the last rays of sunlight touch its surface, the gateway to the Ades opens and people can travel safely towards their death journey.
