While still in university, Rand Abdul Nour started to get involved in film and media productions as a scenic painter and sculptor. Being conceptually driven in her own art and obsessed with movies, Abdul Nour embarked on decorating and designing sets and worlds while telling visual stories revolving around the characters in the scripts. Intrigued and fascinated by the visual elements in her surroundings, Abdul Nour’s work is heavily based on research and observation as she treats each film frame like a painting she is composing. Abdul Nour works as a freelancer in the Art department of several local and international productions as a production designer, an art director or set decorator.
