Nicolás Gil Lavedra

Argentine film director, screenwriter, and producer based in Buenos Aires. My work moves between fiction and documentary, with a strong interest in character-driven stories and social themes. I (...) co-founded Gaman Cine in 2015 and have directed and produced multiple projects, including my debut feature Verdades Verdaderas. As a producer, I co-produced EAMI, winner of the Tiger Award at the International Film Festival Rotterdam. Across my projects, I’m drawn to stories where intimate experience becomes a way to read collective reality—often exploring how intimate relationships reveal broader social and political tensions. I’m currently developing new fiction and documentary projects, including the feature El bosque sumergido and the documentary La otra voz, built around Mercedes Sosa’s letters and photographs from exile. My films have screened internationally at the San Sebastián International Film Festival, the Palm Springs International Film Festival, the Havana International Festival of New Latin American Cinema, the Warsaw International Film Festival, the Mar del Plata International Film Festival, the Málaga Film Festival, and the Biarritz International Festival of Latin American Cinema, among others.
