Graduated in Documentary Cinema from the International Film School of San Antonio de los Baños (EICTV, Cuba) and holds a Master Degree in Art & Cinema Studies. Her awarded opera prima "Hotel Nueva Isla" (2014, Cuba-Spain) was part of the Bright Future Section at Rotterdam IFF and MoMA Documentary Fortnight, among others. Her films and researching link the intimate portrait and the historical dimensions of her characters through the landscape as an expression of the political tension between individuals and Nation. Her 1st feature HOTEL NUEVA ISLA (70’Cuba-Spain 2014) was awarded in EEUU, South Korea, Spain, Cuba, Colombia, Dominican Republic, New Caledonia and Mexico. It premiered in Rotterdam International Film Festival and was screened as part of the MoMA Fortnight Documentary 2015. Her previous short documentary BORDER DIARIES (25’Spain 2013) was shown worldwide at film festivals and contemporary art venues such as Glasgow Centre for Contemporary Art and the National Museum of Art Reina Sofia. She is currently directing a Master Degree in Documentary at the EICTV while preparing her second feature, MAN BETWEEN DOG AND WOLF.
