The British Council is the UK’s international organisation for cultural relations and has worked closely with both the Berlinale and Berlinale Talents for many years. Active in over 100 countries, it creates international opportunities for the people of the UK and other countries and builds trust between them worldwide.
UK talent usually makes up the third largest contingent of Berlinale Talents participants every year. The British Council’s film department provides support for their travel and accommodation expenses, and offers advice during the programming phase. It also arranges annual preview screenings of new British films for the Berlinale selection committee.
