Shilan is a Kurdish filmmaker and producer. She was born and grown up in Mahabad, a Kurdish city in Iran, She Graduated with BA degree in fine arts (Cinema-Director) from Sureh University in Tehran in 2008.Also she participated in documentary filmmaking workshop titled "personal language in documentary film" under the supervision of professor Arne Bro in Danish film school in Copenhagen, Denmark. She is alumni of Berlinale talents and Greenhouse(Close up). Shilan has made several documentaries and short films on social issues in Kurdistan that have screened and won some prizes in national and international film festival such as, International Women’s Film Festival, Independent Film Festival, Third Eye Asian Film Festival, Reggio Film Festival, Baghdad International Film Festival, Kimera International Film Festival, Digital Film Festival, Yilmaz Guney International Film,Flying Broom International ,Human Rights Film Festival ,Black Film Festival, Amed Documentary Film Festival,Kane International Film Festival. She was a member of jury 2th “International film festival YalmazGuney” Batman-Turkey (2012) and a member of jury 2th “International film festival Rojava- Suriye(2017). She has speeches about Women’s eyes conference in Amed Film Festival-Turkey in 2013. Shilan has been working on new project, which called ”I promise” since 2015. It is about 7 refugee girls who lives in Diyarbeker-Turkey refugee camp and follow them. Shilan is a Kurdish filmmaker and producer.
