Rodrigo Michelangeli is a Venezuelan filmmaker based in Toronto. He is the co-writer, cinematographer and producer of the feature film “La Soledad”, which premiered at the 73rd Venice International Film Festival. His short experimental documentary about student protests in Venezuela, "Bullets of Peace" premiered at the TIFF Bell Lightbox (Jayu Human Rights Film Festival 2014). Rodrigo obtained a BFA in Film Production from Toronto’s York University and subsequently co-produced and was co-cinematographer of the short documentary ‘The Changing Place of Making’ (Montreal International Festival of Nouveau Cinema, Grand Prize Winner IAFOR Documentary Film Award). As a Cinematographer Rodrigo has worked in several projects including the hybrid documentary ‘Leftover,’ which won the 2014 Toronto Film Critics Association Award; The Village Green, a web series financed by CanalPlay; and other Canadian and international pieces. In 2015 he participated in RIDM's Talent Lab and founded La Faena Films with Jorge Thielen Armand with the goal of making art-house films.
