A documentary filmmaker and producer Mina Keshavarz was born in Iran in 1984. She has made several awarded documentary films on social issues with personal approach which have premiered in IDFA, Thessaloniki, Busan International Film Festival, Sheffield, Tribeca, London Film Festival including “Profession: Documentaries”, “Braving the Waves” and “The Art of Living in Danger”. Since Mina established her documentary film production “MinDoc Film Production “in Iran in 2013, she produced and directed 2 interactive documentaries in co-production with the Netherlands and granted by Netherlands Film Institute. In 2016 She produced “Braving the Waves” a feature length documentary film directed by herself and supported by IDFA Bertha Fund, Sorfond, Fritt Ord, which won best documentary film award in London International Documentary Festival. Mina’s new film “The Art of Living in Danger “has been supported by Arte/ ZDF, NRW Cinema Fund and HotDocs International CrossCurrent Theatrical Fund. It also received best pitch award in MipDoc 2017 in Cannes. Mina recently produced “Fish Eye” directed by Amin Behroozzadeh which has been premiered in Visions du Reel 2020. This film won best film in progress award in Sarajevo Film Festival 2019 and now nominated for best International Documentary film in DOCPOINT Film Festival Finland. Mina is alumni of Berlinale Talents, HotDocs Emerging Docs Accelerator Lab, EsoDoc, Close-Up and Tribeca Film Institute, Mina invited on 2019 to Nipkow Film Residency in Berlin. Mina has been selected for one- year European Women Producers Mentorship Program 2020-2021 from EWA (Audio Visual Women Alliance in France), on 2021, invited by Berlin Air film residency to stay 3 months in Berlin and working on the script of her new film. She has been also invited by Academy of Art Kunste Berlin to spend 3 months in Rome to work on her film project in fall 2022. Mina is member of EWA (European Women Audiovisual Network) and DAE (Documentary Association European ). Mina’s new film “The Art of Living in Danger” has premiered in Sheffield Doc/Fest, Busan International Film Festival (Biff), International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) in Best of Fests, and more than other 20 film festivals in the past year. This film won Best Documentary Film award in Busan International Film Festival 2020 and has been qualified for Oscar feature length documentary film competition 2021. Film is nominated for best feature length award in One World Media Award 2021. It is still travelling in the film festival around the world. Mina has been invited as a jury member for short documentary Awards in International One World Media Award 2021 in UK. In November 2021 during “Month of Documentary “in France, 2 of Mina’s films “Braving the Waves” and “Profession: Documentarist”, is screening around the France in Cinemas, in partnership with Documentaire Sur Grand Ecran and Simone de Beauvoir Audio-Visual Center. Beside filmmaking, Mina invited to have a masterclass in ESODoc in Italy on 2021 and Griffith Film School in Brisbane , Australia in 2019.
