Maung Sun is an exiled Arakanese-Burmese filmmaker based in Paris. His debut feature fiction, Money Has Four Legs, premiered at the Busan International Film Festival in 2020 New Currents competition and screened at Locarno, the BFI London Film Festival, and the New York Asian Film Festival. In 2021, he was the first filmmaker from Myanmar selected for the Résidence de la Cinéfondation at the Cannes Film Festival. He won Jury award in Myanmar Script Fund (2016) and Busan award in ACM (2022). A graduate of Berlinale Talents and the Nipkow Residency, he served as a jury member for an underground cinema, the Freedom Film Festival(2022) and a jury member for Vesoul IFF (2025).
