Mariana Duarte is a filmmaker and scholar based in Edinburgh, Scotland. She earned a BA in History from the State University of Rio de Janeiro. In 2021, after working at TV Globo in Brazil for over seven years, she graduated from the Kino Eyes Erasmus Film Masters programme. In 2022, she was selected for the Berlinale Talents. Mariana directed the short film "Newcomers" in 2013, and her latest film "Headland" premiered at the Edinburgh Film Festival in 2024.
