Laura Egidos Plaja (Barcelona, 1996) is a producer and co-founder of the Barcelona-based creative production company CONTRARIA. She is alumni of La Incubadora ECAM, Rotterdam Lab and Locarno’s Match Me and is one of the 2024 Variety’s "10 Emerging Spanish Producers to Watch". Previously, she worked at the international sales agency Film Factory and as executive producer of, among others, the short film Solo (2022, A. Gross), which was a Gaudí Awards nominee and a Goya Awards candidate. She has also worked in production coordination for various films, from the intimate Ojos Negros (2019, Silver Biznaga at Malaga Film Festival) to the Netflix blockbuster Society of the Snow (2023, directed by J. A. Bayona). At CONTRARIA, she produces short films and debut features for aspiring directors.
