I am an independent director and film editor based in Istanbul. After receiving my bachelor's degree from Istanbul University, Department of Radio, Cinema, and Television, I started working as an editor, primarily for television series and documentaries. Between the ages of 10 and 16, I was part of the national synchronized swimming team, an experience that later influenced my work as a filmmaker. My first feature film, Duet (2022), which I co-directed, co-produced, and edited, focuses on the lives of two synchronized swimmers. The film had its world premiere at the IndieCork Film Festival and was screened at various international festivals. Duet received the Special Jury Prize at the 59th Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, a Special Mention at the 42nd Istanbul Film Festival, and awards for Best Editing and the Johan Van Der Keuken New Talent Award at the 16th Documentarist Istanbul. As a filmmaker, I focus on gender politics, social struggle, and women's and LGBTIQ+ rights. I am currently developing my new feature documentary.
