
Asha Magrati is a screenwriter, producer, and actress. Her latest film, Pooja, Sir, premiered at the 2024 Venice Film Festival to rave reviews, with Screen Daily calling her “a striking presence.” The film has since screened at dozens of film festivals, including Busan, Tallinn Black Nights, and Göteborg. She is the co-founder of Aadi Films and the Gograha Film Workshop in Nepal. Her 2022 short Four Nights premiered in Berlinale Shorts and was a Golden Bear nominee. As an actress, she has starred in White Sun (Venice), Highway (Berlinale), and Kagbeni (Shanghai). A Berlinale Talents alumna, she was named one of Nepal’s 25 most influential figures by The Kathmandu Post.
