Nazha is an episodic film which follows a young Lebanese woman’s feeling of impotence in the face of her grandmother’s inevitable death. The film revolves around a series of moments, which trace the internal movement of Nazha’s growing emotional quagmire. Not depending on grand, dramatic moments, but rather fragments of internal turmoil, silent desperation and a growing sense of uselessness and lethargy, the film follows Nazha as she struggles more and more to come to terms with her grandmother’s illness. Nazha isn’t about how we all come to terms with the death of our loved ones, but the complex way which we deny it, accept it and mourn it simultaneous, without every articulating it out loud.
