Sushan is an award-winning cinematographer, filmmaker, and film graduate with over a decade of experience in visual storytelling. He is passionate about crafting authentic narratives that preserve culture and connect with audiences worldwide. Sushan has achieved several milestones in his career, including being the first Nepali cinematographer to participate in a major international film festival with a feature-length movie. His work includes Saanghuro—the first Nepalese film telecasted on Channel 4 in the UK, Bulbul—Nepal’s official entry to the Oscars, and The Red Suitcase, the first Nepalese film acquired by HBO and showcased at the 80th Venice Film Festival. Additionally, he directed and produced The Shame, a short film selected at prestigious festivals like Busan and Locarno, earning international recognition for its compelling storytelling. With a Bachelor’s degree in Film Studies, specializing in Cinematography, Sushan blends technical skills with a focus on authenticity. Through filmmaking and education, Sushan aims to inspire others, elevate Nepalese cinema, and preserve the nation’s cultural identity while exploring new creative possibilities.
