Juan Sebastián Vásquez is a Venezuelan-Spanish director, screenwriter, and cinematographer with over 20 years in the film industry. He started at HBO Latin America and worked as a cinematographer on (...) films like Callback (2016), a triple winner at the Málaga Film Festival, and Netflix's The Paramedic (2020). His directorial debut, Upon Entry (2022), co-directed with Alejandro Rojas, earned critical acclaim and won major awards, including the 2024 Gaudí Award for Best Original Screenplay and the ALMA Award for Best Dramatic Screenplay. It was also nominated for three Goya Awards and three Independent Spirit Awards, including Best First Feature.
