Yana Lekarska is a Bulgarian director, screenwriter, journalist and translator. She is a graduate in Film Directing from New Bulgarian University (Bulgaria) and Chung-Ang University (South Korea). With the short films she wrote and directed being selected to numerous international film festivals she is also an alumna from workshops such as the Film Production Residency Program (Busan, South Korea), the Fantastic Film School (Bucheon IFF, South Korea), Film+ (Bucharest, Romania) as well as Tokyo Talents and Sarajevo Talents. She is an associate producer of the feature film Ma Ma (Myanmar, South Korea) and has interned at the Bulgarian production company Chuchkov Brothers and the renowned South-Korean director Lee Chang-dong's company Pinehouse Film. Her feature debut project as both director and screenwriter Because I Love Bad Weather received the Project Development Funding from the Bulgarian National Film Center.
