Well Amorim, 31, graduated in cinema in the International Film and Television School of San Antonio de Los Baños, Cuba, specializing in cinematography. He is included in the MOOC 100 list in the film/audiovisual category, Brazil's largest list of emerging Black creatives, which highlights and recognizes the 100 leading Black figures in the Brazilian creative industry. He is a founding partner of the creative production company Maloka Filmes and as director and executive producer, he made the short film "O preço" (2015) and the feature-length documentary "Raíces" (2020), which premiered at the Tiradentes Film Festival and won Best Film at the Cinema Negro em Ação and Visões Periférica festivals. He is the executive producer and director of photography for the multi-award-winning short film "Perifericu," which has received over 30 awards/nominations and has been screened more than 350 times worldwide. He also directed the photography for the short films "Cuando llega la noche" (2022), "Lo que queda de nosotros" (2023), "Abuela" (2023), "Granmather" (2024 - Guadalajara selection), "Abiku" (2024), "Fronteriza" (2025 - Best Short Film at the "Olhar de Cinema" festival), "En mil pedazos" (2024 - Ji.hlava selection), "Nan Ginen" (2025 - Ji.hlava), and "Anba Dlo" (2025), which premiered at the 75th Berlinale. This year he also directed the cinematography for his first feature film, the project “House of Hilton,” scheduled for release in 2026. He is one of the creators of PERIFERICU - Quebrada International Film and Culture Festival and was selected by TALENTS Guadalajara 2024 as an emerging talent in Latin American cinema. He is currently finishing the short film “Saudade Malokera” as director and developing the screenplay for his debut feature film as director, the project “Bom Lugar,” which was presented at the 2024 edition of the Marché du Film, the Cannes Film Festival's market, the most important in the world.
