Sharofat Arabova

Sharofat Arabova is a filmmaker, film historian, and cultural researcher working across cinema, audiovisual heritage, and cross-regional contexts, with a particular focus on Tajikistan and Central (...) Asia. Her work explores cinema as cultural memory and historical narrative, bringing together archival research, documentary practices, and contemporary filmmaking. She is interested in how films circulate across different cultural and institutional contexts, and how non-dominant cinematic histories are documented, interpreted, and transmitted.
