Pedro Maia is a filmaker based in Porto, Portugal. Works as a freelancer in areas such as cinema, video and multimedia. His works have been presented in several festivals, both Portuguese and international. Has a degree in Tecnologias da Comunicação Audiovisual (Instituto Politécnico do Porto) and a Video Art Course (Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation). For the last 9 years has collaborated with the International Film Festival Curtas de Vila do Conde. Since 2004, has been developing the “live cinema” concept, manipulating images in real time and interacting with sound with the project p.ma in collaboration with several musician such as Panda Bear, Thomas Brinkmann, among other.
