Ophelia Harutyunyan is a US-based documentary and fiction filmmaker from Armenia. Her films have played at film festivals all around the world - Venice FF, Sundance, SXSW, TIFF, CPH:DOX, Tribeca, Clermont-Ferrand and distributed/broadcast by NEON, HBO, France Televisions, Amazon, Hulu. Most recently she produced Alex Gibney's WISE GUY David Chase and The Sopranos Documentary (HBO) which premiered at Tribeca FF in 2024. She wrote and directed the fiction short film It Takes A Village... (France Televisions), an Armenian-French-Belgian co-production which premiered at Clermont Ferrand IFF where it won the Grand Prix from France TV. She directed and produced, alongside Alex Gibney and Suzanne Hillinger, the feature documentary film Totally Under Control (NEON) about the American government's response to the covid-19 pandemic. She is currently in production on a two-part feature documentary for HBO and in pre-production for a fiction film funded by France Televisions and CNC.
