Born in Vladivostok, Russia, Max is an Estonian producer. In 2012 he coproduced I Don't Love You by Rastorguev/Kostomarov and continued to work with the filmmakers on The Term (2014), Kiev/Moscow (2015) and My Friend Boris Nemtsov (2016). In 2017 The Trial: The State of Russia vs Oleg Sentsov was selected for a Berlinale Special Screening. In 2018 How Big Is the Galaxy? participated in IDFA
