Marie Laurentine Bayala is a veteran award-winning filmmaker who has worked in new media since 2008. Bayala has directed more than nine films, including “Jusqu'au Bout,” a film examining violent acts against women. The film won a top honor at Ciné Droit Libre regional film festival and was shown at Africa’s largest film festival, FESPACO, in 2011 and on the TV channel TV5 Africa. She won the International Organization of La Francophonie fund to make "The Fight goes on" her last short film. She studied communication and journalism at the University of Ouagadougou and received her master’s in documentary filmmaking from Gaston Berger University in Senegal. She improved her skills in producing film at the Herberger Institute for Design and the Art- School of Film, Dance and Theatre ( Arizona State University).
