RAI MARÍA

Rai María holds a degree in Audiovisual Communication from the Complutense University of Madrid, studied film at La Sapienza (Rome), and earned a diploma in directing at ECAM. Her short films have (...) screened and won awards at festivals such as Cannes Short Film Corner, Berlinale Talent Campus and Notodofilmfest, where she won the Grand Jury Prize for "Ejercicio 2: Ficción". Her debut feature, "Malpartida Fluxus Village" (2015), screened at over 30 international festivals and won awards at Alcances, FILAF and Avuelapluma. Her second film, "Karen" (2020), premiered at the Seville European Film Festival and received acclaim and multiple awards. Her recent short "La niña mártir" won Best Short at Gijón and was selected at Málaga, Márgenes, D’A and BAFICI. She is an alumna of the Film Academy Residencies and the SGAE Screenwriting Lab, and was named a Spain Star of Tomorrow by Screen International.
