Lomorpich RITHY (aka YoKi) (1992), is a Cambodian-born filmmaker. YoKi's works explore themes of psychological trauma, living in the moment, and the fluidity of gender and sexual identity, inspired by true events/stories. In 2019, her debut film, 'YOUNG LOVE,' was selected for the official selection at Locarno FF. The film also earned YoKi the best screenplay award at the 6th National Film Festival and the Jury Special Award. Her second feature film, 'ROMDOUL, THE EVENING FRAGRANCE,' has been selected at Locarno Open Doors Lab 2020 and Talents Tokyo 2022. YoKi was also selected for the intensive Sundance Film Festival Asia program. Most recently, in 2024, YoKi was selected for the 10th edition of Directors Factory program at the Cannes Directors Fortnight. YoKi's short film "Silig", co-written and co-directed, will be screened at the Théâtre Croisette in Cannes as a preamble to the opening of the 56th edition of the Quinzaine des Cinéastes. YoKi, is a creative entrepreneur, a cultural innovator, founded PlerngKob (Sacred Fire), a creative house of film, music, and festivals, and serves as its CEO. YoKi is the co-founder and festival producer of BonnPhum Festival, the biggest and leading art & cultural festival in Cambodia, showcasing contemporary Cambodian culture since 2014. She served as a curator for Festival Tokyo in 2018. She was a former producer/director at BBC Media Action.
