Franziska Henke is an award-winning guitarist and film composer whose music impresses through a deep sensitivity, colourful sounds and craftmanship.
For the score to her debut feature film Nelly's Adventure (directed by Dominik Wessely, 2016) she received the GERMAN FILM MUSIC AWARD as Best Newcomer.
After studying guitar world music and composition at Carl Maria von Weber Music College of music in Dresden (Germany) and Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (France), where she graduated with honours, she accomplished her Master's degree in film scoring at University for Film and Television KONRAD WOLF in Potsdam-Babelsberg.
As a performer and a composer she has worked with orchestras and ensembles like the Semper Opera Dresden, Sinfonietta Dresden, United Guitar Ensemble and the German Film Orchestra Babelsberg.
Franziska Henke wrote music for films (fiction, animation, documentary), which have been screened at festivals world wide such as MONTREAL WORLD FILM FESTIVAL, FILMFEST MÜNCHEN, TRANSILVANIAN INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL, DOK LEIPZIG, ACHTUNG BERLIN, HOFER FILMTAGE, FESTIVAL DU FILM D'AUBAGNE, LUBUSKIE LATO FILMOWE, MUSIKFILMTAGE OBERAUDORF, SEHSÜCHTE, GIFFONI FILM FESTIVAL, FÜNF SEEN FILMFESTIVAL, KINDERFILMFEST KYOTO, FESTIVAL EUROPÉEN DU FILM COURT DE BREST, MOLODIST KYIV INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL, INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN'S FILM FESTIVAL BANGLADESH, CHILDREN'S FILM FESTIVAL SEATTLE, FILM FESTIVAL MAX OPHÜLS PREIS , KINOKI FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL DE CINE.
Her concert works have been performed i.a. in the USA, Germany, France, Czech Republic, Mexico and Spain.
She developed her wide range of artistic skills also within Master classes like the Orchestration Master Class at HOLLYWOOD MUSIC WORKSHOP with Conrad Pope, Composition Master Classes with Leo Brouwer, Bernard Cavanna, Carlo Domeniconi and Marc Marder.
Furthermore, Franziska Henke is also a former member of singer/songwriter group Miss O'Paque, where she works as backing vocalist, guitarist and arranger.
