I am Carla Finco Casanova, I was born in 1990 in Río Negro, Argentina. I studied film directing at the Universidad del Cine in Buenos Aires. Since 2012, I have worked in the film industry. I was selected as a talent for the Biennial of Young Art Buenos Aires in 2017 and Berlinale Talents Buenos Aires in 2020. I am currently developing my first feature film, MY REVOLUTION, and a short film to accompany it. It is an intimate and challenging project that explores female sexuality alongside the grieving process. As the protagonist comes to terms with the loss of her mother, she embarks on a journey of deep sexual exploration. My work focuses on eroticism, female sexuality and body diversity, exploring the different stages of desire and the possibilities of pleasure. Through photography and audiovisuals, I explore these themes by interviewing women, questioning our roles as sexual subjects and seeking to reconcile us with our bodies and sexuality. I am deeply committed to the idea of educating, including and informing about sexuality in order to change social perceptions. On the other hand, I am deeply interested in grief, in what happens to desire and pleasure in the context of loss and illness. I bring all this together in my opera prima. Now, based in Barcelona, I continue my creative journey as a director and photographer. I hold a key position at Erika Lust Films (https://erikalust.com/films) feminist porn company, where as Creative Producer and Assistant Director I use sexuality as a powerful tool to explore new ways of connecting with pleasure, away from hegemonic and patriarchal norms.
