
Boris Despodov is a painter, animation, documentary and fiction film director and producer. His documentary feature “Corridor #8” was screened at over 60 international film festivals and received 16 international awards including - Berlinale Ecumenical Jury Prize 2008, HBO Best Emerging Director, HOTDOCS 2008, Toronto, Canada, Heart of Sarajevo - Best Documentary Film, Sarajevo IFF, Bosnia and Herzegovina Best Documentary Film, Bulgarian Film Academy 2009, Best Cinematography in Documentary film, Bulgarian Film Academy 2009 . His feature film debut “Twice Upon a Time in the West” a post-modern fiction film, starring Claudia Cardinale, as well as one of Spain’s emerging male star actor Alex Brendemühl. The film refers to Sergio Leone’s classic western and was produced for less than 400 000 Euro. He produces in 2013 Soul food stories, documentary film, Bulgaria-Finland, 70 min., Dir. Т. Hristov, the film was distributed in Poland, Finland, USA and screened on Al Jaseera. Presented in the official selection of more than 20 festivals, including official competitions Busan, San Francisco and IDFA shortlisted for mid-length award.
