No Child Left Behind

Logline
In London in the year 2045, society is much more fascist and homophobic. When scientists attempt to remove the so-called gay gene, things go wrong. A gay man who has been in a coma for 40 years wakes up in the midst of this, and has to negotiate this bleak new world, while at the same time coming to understand that everyone — heterosexuals too — carries the gay gene, or at least everyone carries versions of a bisexual gene, and that what the scientists have chopped out is the capacity for creativity and experimentation. Director/screenwriter Kathleen Bryson is an evolutionary anthropologist whose research in real life focuses on evolutionary theory and bisexuality in the great apes (including humans).
