- Lev(35), Maxim(37) and Lyosha (7) manage to escape to Berlin after Savva(11), their elder son, is taken away by Russian authorities, when they uncovered that kids are raised in a same-sex family. The abrupt displacement, constant interrogation of German bureaucratic system and the guilt for decisions that they made puts their family under pressure, pushing them to question what actually remains of them after all that they left behind.
