"Matins* by the Bug River" is a project of the Museum - Synagogue Complex in Włodawa, inspired by the rich tradition of Eastern Orthodoxy in Poland. It is a virtual journey through the still untouched nature and mystical areas of the Bug River, but also a spiritual journey, a journey into the depths of human existence. The plot is created by a kind of journey referring to the pilgrimage of Saint Onuphrius. The film invites you to ask questions: Isn't the life of each of us a journey full of contemplation? And is it possible to pass by indifferently to another person? Even when wandering alone, we are not alone, we pass each other next to someone for someone. The premiere of "Matins on the Bug" was to take place on September 18, 2021 during the XXII Festival of Three Cultures in Włodawa, which was canceled due to the ongoing humanitarian crisis on the border with Belarus.
The partners of the project are: the international VR KonVRsia Club of Art at the Film School in Łódź and the Film University in Potsdam and the VR Realization Academy from Jastrzębia Góra.
