A New Internet
- Logline
- The internet is broken. The original vision of cyberspace as a hierarchy-free communications platform has been replaced with our current dystopic internet: a hyper-polarized radicalization machine rampant with trolling, fake news, censorship and surveillance. No one has stepped forward to envision a meaningful overthrow of these systems.
But bubbling up in the fringes of society is a worldwide movement of hackers who believe they have a solution: tear it down and start again. By rebuilding the physical infrastructure of the internet and reconfiguring the protocols that manage our data, the "dWeb" movement believes they can topple the monopolies that control our information.
A New Internet will give us a glimpse into the world of the dWeb movement, and explore their radical experiments in creating a new kind of hierarchy-free internet. - Talent
