Ali Ghandtschi - Berlinale 2017
This year, director Ildikó Enyedi is returning to the International Jury of the Berlinale. She has written and directed award-winning short and feature films as well as episodes of TV series. Her film ON BODY AND SOUL won the Golden Bear at the Berlinale 2017 and was nominated for an Academy Award. She has been invited to join juries at several festivals, served as president of the Hungarian Directors’ Guild and is a member of the European Film Academy and the American Film Academy.

Nadav Lapid is an Israeli film director. With his most recent feature film SYNONYMES, he won the Golden Bear for Best Film and the FIPRESCI Award at the Berlinale 2019. His debut feature film POLICEMAN won the Special Jury Award at the Locarno Film Festival in 2011 and went on to win more than 20 awards internationally. He has already been a jury member at Venice, Locarno and in Critics’ Week at Cannes.

Adina Pintilie is a Romanian filmmaker, visual artist and curator. Her first feature film TOUCH ME NOT won the Golden Bear for Best Film at the 2018 Berlinale and has been widely distributed. Pintilie’s short- and medium-length works such as DON’T GET ME WRONG and OXYGEN have also had impressive festival runs in Locarno, Leipzig and Rotterdam. Additionally, she served as a jury member at festivals and industry events and holds master classes.

Cosmopol Film
One year after winning the Golden Bear at the 70th Berlinale for THERE IS NO EVIL, Mohammad Rasoulof returns to the festival in the International Jury. His films GOODBYE, MANUSCRIPTS DON’T BURN and A MAN OF INTEGRITY all premiered and received awards at Cannes. Upon returning to Iran in September 2017, he was officially barred from leaving the country. Despite his appeal, he has not been permitted to travel or to make films with no end in sight.

Bosnian filmmaker Jasmila Žbanić has been a regular guest at the Berlin International Film Festival, this time returning as a member of the International Jury. Her first feature film GRBAVICA won the 2006 Golden Bear at the Berlinale, before going on to win awards at many other festivals. Most recently, her film QUO VADIS, AIDA? was chosen by Bosnia and Herzegovina as their submission for Best International Feature Film at the Academy Awards in 2021.

Carlo Chatrian studied literature and philosophy and holds a degree in film studies. In 2003 he began working for the Locarno Film Festival. Between 2013 and 2018, Chatrian was Artistic Director of Locarno, where he enjoyed programming popular films for the 8,000 viewers in the Piazza Grande, as well as auteur films for an even more cinephile audience. Since 2019 he has been the Artistic Director of the Berlin International Film Festival.
