Acclaimed DoP Peter Zeitlinger is a longtime collaborator of Werner Herzog and Ulrich Seidl, contributing his visual genius to the style of their singular films. Zeitlinger stands for a cinematography without compromises, and his sharp and at the same time poetic approach to visual storytelling has yielded the dazzling and diverse looks e.g. for the 3D film CAVE OF FORGOTTEN DREAMS and most recently QUEEN OF THE DESERT, screening in Competition this year for the Golden Bear. A central focus of this in-depth master class will be how Zeitilinger illuminates cinematic spaces through cinematography, from the most diverse of natural landscapes to the darkest spaces of mankind.
