Chloé Zhao, Oscar winning director of "Nomadland", is known for her intimate, naturalistic storytelling and her focus on overlooked communities and emotional fractures. With "Hamnet", her acclaimed drama on the love and loss of Shakespeare’s family, she deepens her exploration of rupture and transformation. The film won the Golden Globe for Best Picture, Drama and has earned eight Oscar nominations and eleven BAFTA nominations. She joins Berlinale Talents to discuss her career thus far from "Songs My Brothers Taught Me" through to "Hamnet", and reflect on how this year’s theme of embracing chaos and discomfort has impacted her work.
