In this comprehensive workshop Lina Todd and Laylee Olfat, two renowned casting directors from New York,will give practical advice on having a successful casting session. This concentrated session will include topics like: preparation of material for auditions, taping scenes with feedback, meetings with directors,critiques on headshots,CVs, demo tapes and show reels. The actors are to be given the skills and confidence to have a successful audition and to turn the brief time in the audition room into a moment to shine.The participants will be given several scenes from films to prepare.Afterwards they will be filmed and the results individually discussed.

A repeat of the workshop is scheduled on Thursday 17, 10:00 at K3.

Laylee Olfat

Has worked in the film industry since 1987, and as a casting agent since 2001. Her first feature, the acclaimed ROGER DODGER, garnered a Best Actor for Campbell Scott from the National Board of Review.

Lina Todd

New York-based casting director and development executive, her credits include Gilles Paquet-Brenner’s ELLE S'APPELAIT SARAH and Peter Weir’s THE WAY BACK. She has worked with directors like Jodie Foster, Jennifer Lynch, Kenneth Lonergan and Danny Leiner. She created the Rising Stars Programme at the Hamptons International Film Festival.
