World Building Workshop
The World Building Workshop is an intensive workshop which brings together visionary experts and crafty Talents to reimagine the rules between set design and narrative practice.
The Workshop is centred around in-depth exchanges for our production designers, digital set designers and costume designers, involving professional and expert film architects, screenwriters and directors. It also includes a World Building session where experts from the fields of art and science introduce Talents to interdisciplinary and non-linear approaches to creating new “set designs” in film and beyond.
Talent comes with the responsibility to share, and at the Workshops you are invited to give your best to receive a lot in response. In this way, the Workshops form one part of the entire Summit experience. Where the six-day Summit offers a breadth of opportunity to learn new things beyond your individual expertise, hear new opinions, experience new techniques and ideas, the Workshops are a microscope on your specific field of work, deepening and strengthening your overall Berlinale Talents experience.

The biggest impact of Berlinale Talents on my work came from the invaluable lessons I learned in these workshops, particularly the way of thinking. This shift in perspective has greatly influenced my creative process and will continue to shape my work in the future.Participant feedback, 2025

The scene design classes and the teachings of Juan Díaz were extraordinary for me. The content and structure of the classes helped me immensely in organizing my thoughts and looking at the production design profession from deeper and more practical perspectives.Participant feedback, 2025
