Talent Press
Our international incubator for film critics and journalists, Talent Press offers workshops and platforms in Berlin, Buenos Aires, Durban, Guadalajara, Sarajevo and Rio, providing selected Talents with the opportunity to enhance their skills and rethink the realities of their guild.
In Berlin, eight selected participants come together with five mentors to explore and share their different perspectives on the festival's many offerings and sharpen their critical tools.
Participants work on and publish in-depth essays and reviews about festival films as well as find their own creative approaches to the programme, guests and fellow Talents brought to Berlin by Berlinale Talents. With the ambition to break existing routines and rethink film criticism and journalism to stimulate debate and deeper understanding, Talent Press offers a series of internal gatherings for its participants, each sparked by one of the mentor’s input and the inspiring response of an alumni engaged in the programme of the current Berlinale. Welcoming guests from all film disciplines and beyond, topics can range from innovative forms of storytelling to the new realities of the digital age and the necessity to change our perspectives on cinema to become more diverse and allow more voices to be heard and seen on screen.
Check out their work on the Talent Press website and those of our partners FIPRESCI and Goethe-Institut.
