Production Design Studio

An interdisciplinary and cutting-edge exploration of imaginary worlds, the Studio shakes up the idea that whoever controls the story controls the world. World Building is a group-orientated narrative practice whereby the understanding of a world precedes the telling of a story, thus flipping that old narrative on its head.

The Studio comprises in-depth exchanges with film architects and a World Building session along with screenwriters and directors, where experts from the fields of art to science introduce Talents to interdisciplinary, non-linear approaches to conceiving and creating new “set designs” of life in and beyond film.

I had the chance to discuss a very interesting approach to building a world and, from there, its visual conception in parallel with the development of the script and the whole process of cinematographic creation. This has always been something I have highly valued for production design in cinema.
