Market Workshop

Distributors, sales agents and marketing professionals are invited to this intensive Workshop to work on focused strategies in the distribution stage with seasoned experts, and to share their experience and ideas with peers.

The Workshop comes with a modern understanding of a "market," where the actual business of acquiring and selling films is always closely connected with a deeper understanding also about audiences and the many places where audiovisual content is perceived today.

Bringing together emerging sales agents, distributors and marketing professionals with curators and founders of cinema spaces, festivals and other platforms allows a 360° exploration of these theoretical and practical perspectives. The knowledge from this Workshop is deepened by working with practical examples of Talents alumni films selected for the current year's Berlinale and discussing the results with the respective producers.

Talent comes with the responsibility to share, and at the Workshops you are invited to give your best to receive a lot in response. In this way, the Workshops form one part of the entire Summit experience. Where the six-day Summit offers a breadth of opportunity to learn new things beyond your individual expertise, hear new opinions, experience new techniques and ideas, the Workshops are a microscope on your specific field of work, deepening and strengthening your overall Berlinale Talents experience.

The workshops we attended were amazing, but the most special part was undoubtedly the group selection. We were 11 people, all deeply passionate about the industry and the audience. Despite our diverse backgrounds, we connected instantly. We talked far more than we should have in class, but that only inspired us even more to stay in touch and keep exchanging ideas in the future.
