Manfred Durniok Foundation

The Manfred Durniok Foundation is a non-profit that promotes cultural exchange between Germany and Asia, provides grants and prizes, and offers financial support for events, projects and cross-cultural activities. It is named after the Berlin-based filmmaker and producer Manfred Durniok, who passed away in 2003 and had a deep connection to Southeast Asian culture. His daughter and heir Ayano Teramoto established the foundation in his memory.

Every year, the Manfred Durniok Foundation supports Berlinale Talents by contributing towards the travel expenses of East and Southeast Asian Talents. It also hosts an annual reception for them.
