Camera Workshop

The Camera Workshop is an intensive workshop where attending cinematographers are invited to consider how their aesthetic and technical choices shape the stories they tell.

The Camera Workshop welcomes renowned cinematographers and experts in the field with the aim of fostering lively exchanges with the Talents. Practical exercises centred around footage brought in by the Talents themselves will provide initial case studies in order to examine the use of lighting, aspects of post-production, colour grading and the latest camera technology and their roles in translating a creative vision to screen.

Talent comes with the responsibility to share, and at the Workshops you are invited to give your best to receive a lot in response. In this way, the Workshops form one part of the entire Summit experience. Where the six-day Summit offers a breadth of opportunity to learn new things beyond your individual expertise, hear new opinions, experience new techniques and ideas, the Workshops are a microscope on your specific field of work, deepening and strengthening your overall Berlinale Talents experience.

Learning from and exchanging with other cinematographers from around the world was definitely the highlight, and the Camera Studio day with ARRI, Dirk Meier, Caroline Champetier & Kirsten Johnson was AMAZING. An incredible day full of inspiring discussions and technical information.
