Jean Counet

I am an Amsterdam based cinematographer and film director working on documentary films, feature films and cross media projects all around the world.My filming style is poetic and subtle. I love to (...) find a balance of what an image shows and what it suggests. I create images both intuitively and conceptually. It makes the collaboration with the director and the sound designer central to the co-creation of the moment. I admire the work of Christopher Doyle, Krzystof Kieslowski, Andrej Tarkovski, Artavazd Pelechian, Marcel Lozinki, Robert Bresson, Herz Frank, Joachim Trier, Kar-Wai Wong, Hou Hsiao Hsien, Pirjo Honkasala and Victor Kassakovsky for the endless inspiration they give me for my work as a cinematographer and as a film director.
