
Carlos is a director and screenwriter dedicated to telling stories about migration and queer experiences. His protagonists have been heard at different festivals such as Sundance, Berlinale, and Hot Docs. In 2019, his documentary “Symphony of a Sad Sea” won best documentary short, by the Mexican Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences, in 2021 his short documentary “The happiness in which I live” was also nominated in the same category. Currently is preparing his first feature documentary “I want to kill my grandfather”, funded with the Mexican Documentary Film Fund and the Development Award from The Whickers at Sheffield DocFest 2023.
