    Stefan Ciupek, DoP and previously digital camera supervisor on projects like SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE and ANTICHRIST, and colourist Dirk Meier, who has worked on the recent films by Anton Corbijn and Roy Andersson, meet to talk about Stefan's latest project, THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON. They will discuss the variety of technical pitfalls and disasters that can happen on such a big budget production. In this intimate session, Ciupek will focus on the changing role of digital image technicians as digital workflows evolve to create new responsibilities both in pre-production and on set. Other topics will include the technical challenges of camera and lens choice, quality control and look creation, the grading of rushes, the calibration of displays and the successful collaboration with a fellow DoP.

    Renowned cinematographer and colourist, he is a specialist in digital cameras and post-production. Stefan has worked on critically acclaimed films such as Alexander Sokurov’s RUSSIAN ARK, Danny Boyle’s SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE and Lars von Trier’s ANTICHRIST. His latest works as cinematographer include the arthouse drama IN EMBRYO and the thriller THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON.

    A colourist and postproduction consultant, Dirk Meier has worked for companies such as The Post Republic, ARRI and Zentropa, and on films such as Lars von Trier’s ANTICHRIST, Sebastian Lelio’s A FANTASTIC WOMAN, Alice Rohrwacher’s HAPPY AS LAZZARO and Roy Andersson’s ABOUT ENDLESSNESS. He headed Up.Grade, the world’s first long-term training programme for colour grading and is currently an associate member of the Technical Committee of IMAGO.
