    Help, I've done a great short film! Producer Sabine Brantus (ARTE), festival programmers Laurent Crouzeix (Clermond-Ferrand International Short Film Festival) and Jukka-Pekka Laakso (Tampere Film Festival) and distributor Jan Naszewski (New Europe Film Sales), all passionately dedicated to the short form, talk about the different ways to present your short film. This panel will consider the reasons for and advantages of making a short, how to find the right presentation context and how to make the most out of your film through distribution, sales, festivals, etc.

    Sabine Brantus

    Both a German and a French citizen, she has been working at ARTE in the communication, production and editorial departments for 17 years. Before that she had gathered experiences in the media industry as a freelance journalist. She has been orchestrating the short films and the short film programme “Kurzschluss” / “Court-circuit” as an editor for six years.


    Laurent Crouzeix

    Laurent Crouzeix is the film programmer of the international competition at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, where he also coordinates the short film co-production forum Euro Connection and various industry events during the Short Film Market. He manages the online platform Shortfilmdepot.com, which connects thousands of filmmakers with 60 festivals around the world, and implements partnerships with other festivals and markets.


    Ben Gibson

    Ben Gibson is the director of the DFFB film school in Berlin. He was previously director of degree programmes at the Australian Film, Television and Radio School and a visiting professor at Goldsmiths. From 2001 to 2014, he was director of the London Film School. He is a former independent producer and was head of production at the British Film Institute from 1988 to 1998. Before that he was a distributor, exhibitor, theatre director, film critic and journalist.


    Jukka-Pekka Laakso

    Festival director of Tampere Film Festival. He also acts as the executive director for Pirkanmaa Film Centre, a non-profit organisation that runs an art-house cinema, distributes films in Finland and works in media education. On top of that he is a member of Finnish National Council for Cinema.


    Jan Naszewski

    Jan Naszewski owns the Warsaw-based boutique world sales company New Europe Film Sales, which sold the Icelandic film RAMS (Un Certain Regard Prize 2015 in Cannes, sold to over 50 countries), alongside many acclaimed debuts, animations and short films (10 Oscar-shortlisted titles, including 2017 winner SING and shorts by Ruben Östlund). Jan regularly acts as an expert for festivals, the European Film Academy, Creative Europe and EAVE.
