    Producers Benjamin Domenech (History of Fear), Bertha Navarro (Pan‘s Labyrinth), Raymond Phathanavirangoon (Sandcastle) and Ada Solomon (Child‘s Pose) will discuss the role of producers, how they decide to take on film projects and their collaborations with screenwriters, directors and editors throughout the filmmaking process.


    Benjamin Domenech

    Argentinian producer and a Berlinale Talent in 2010. His credits include the short films VIDEOJUEGO and CYNTHIA TODAVIA TIENE LAS LLAVES, which were selected for Cannes, Rotterdam, and other festivals. He produced Jazmin López's LEONES, Gonzalo Tobal's VILLEGAS and Dominga Sotomayor Castillo's THURSDAY TILL SUNDAY, all of which won awards in Buenos Aires. His latest production, Benjamin Naishtat's feature debut HISTORY OF FEAR, premieres in the Berlinale Competition in 2014.

    Bertha Navarro

    Mexican-born producer, her credits include Gregory Nava's Oscar nominated THE NORTH (1983), John Sayles's Golden Globe nominated MEN WITH GUNS (1997) and Guillermo del Toro's CRONOS (1993), THE DEVIL'S BACKBONE (2001) and PAN'S LABYRINTH (2006), which won three Oscars and earned her a BAFTA. Since 1993 she coordinates the Screenwriter’s Lab for Latin American scripts with the Sundance Institute, and since 2009 the Film Music Lab.

    Raymond Phathanavirangoon

    Raymond Phathanavirangoon is a producer, programmer and Executive Director of the Southeast Asia Fiction Film Lab (SEAFIC). Previously he worked for the Toronto International Film Festival, the Hong Kong International Film Festival and the Cannes Critics’ Week, and was also the Director of Marketing at Fortissimo Films. His producing credits include Boo Junfeng’s APPRENTICE, Josh Kim’s HOW TO WIN AT CHECKERS, Pen-ek Ratanaruang’s HEADSHOT and Pang Ho-cheung’s DREAM HOME.
