We are turning a giddy 15 this year and warmly welcome all Talents, mentors and experts to the Opening Ceremony of the anniversary edition. The director of the HAU Hebbel am Ufer, Annemie Vanackere, and members of the Talents team welcome you. We present the focus and highlights of this year‘s edition, and a compilation of excerpts from films of selected participants will be screened. The opening is followed by a drinks reception. ¡Viva la Quinceañera!
Project Manager of Berlinale Talents. Christine worked for several film festivals in Germany and France until 2000. Amongst others, she was project manager until 2004 of Cartoon Movie, the European Co-Production Market for Animated Feature Films in Babelsberg, as well as head of an international conference series in Berlin-Brandenburg (today known as Media Convention) until 2005. Since 2004, she has been working for Berlinale Talents, of which she assumed general management in 2008 and continues to manage together with Florian Weghorn since 2014. She is one of the initiators of the Berlinale Residency programme and several Talents International programmes such as Talents Durban (South Africa), Talents Guadalajara (Mexico) and Talents Tokyo (Japan), initiatives realized through cooperations of Berlinale Talents and other film festivals. In 2016, she received a diploma in systemic organisational counseling and change management.
Florian has been the programme manager of Berlinale Talents since 2014. Together with Christine Tröstrum he is responsible for the yearly summit in Berlin and the further development of the six offshoots of Berlinale Talents worldwide. Florian studied theatre, film and television studies at the University of Cologne, and gained a master’s degree majoring in the ‘Visual Language of Melancholy in Film’. Florian joined the Berlin International Film Festival in 2002, initially working for the Generation section. From 2008 to 2014 he served as the section’s co-director and as a curator of its short and feature-length film programmes. He is also a member of the selection committee for the Berlinale Competition. Apart from the Berlinale, Florian worked for other international film festivals and cultural institutions. He is an author and editor of several publications addressing film and youth culture.
Belgian-born artistic and managing director of the HAU Hebbel am Ufer. She started as production manager at STUC and the Klapstuk festival, before taking over as artistic director at the Nieuwpoorttheater in Ghent. From 1995 to 2011 Annemie worked at the Rotterdamse Schouwburg, since 2001 as artistic co-director and as director of the Productiehuis Rotterdam.
